2. I’ve heard of templates and they’re cheap or free. Why shouldn’t I use them?
You are correct; templates are cheap and can be a good value if your communication needs are very, very basic. The problem is that you'll likely need to install some kind of editing software, then learn how to use that. Another issue with templates is that they are often inflexible and/or easy to break.
Double check on the template company’s flexibility to alter their templates to fit your needs. Questions to ask include: Can you use your own images? How many pages are you allowed? Can you decide how your navigation is displayed? If you add a new page, will all the link menus update automatically?

3. All my other quotes for custom work are 5 to 10 times your fees. Are they overpriced? Or, is something wrong with you?
Yes and No. We used to charge the same 10-times fee, back when we were building every site by hand. Our previous pricing structure made a website that utilized features like those found in SiteBuilder by AccuNet cost between $5,000 – $10,000, when you factor in set up fees, development fees (per page) and future maintenance fees.
However, all good things come to an end in the fast pace world of information technology. Just like a computer or cell phone used to be outrageously expensive but today are now affordable to the masses, the website development business has redefined itself.
Unless you have very specific or proprietary requirements, then you likely don't need a totally custom built website. If you're not sure, ask us - we offer both types of websites, so we can give you an unbiased opinion.
4. Why is this monthly service higher than other hosting packages?
Our monthly service fee includes hosting (and email) plus the online website building and maintenance software. This program is continuously improved and new features are regularly added at no cost to our customers. When comparing other plans to SiteBuilder, you need to consider all your costs: ongoing maintenance fees for updates/changes and fees to add new pages or images. SiteBuilder has none.
If you plan to never make any changes or updates to your site, then SiteBuilder may not be your best option. But if, like most organizations, you make regular changes or additions, SiteBuilder allows you to control your costs to a set monthly or annual fee.
If you elect to pay annually, you'll get 12 months of service for the price of 11, on all plans.
5. What are my hidden costs?
While there are no hidden costs, you will also need to purchase a domain name. Additionally, many people choose to enhance their website with our optional services. These services include custom programming, website development assistance, search engine registration, Flash animation and digital/virtual tour photography.
Remember, development of website theme graphics, a written Getting Started Guide, an online interactive help system and a one hour consultation (training) are included in the upfront set up fee.
6. How long will it take to get my website running?
This answer relies on you. The timing of actual publish date depends on your ability to complete your website’s content. Once your website is published, we encourage you to continually refine the site as you learn how this Internet presence effects your business. |
